ONE YEAR OLD!
Dear Readers/Subscribers,
It's been exactly one year since I wrote the first story Oracle Part 1 as Digital Renegade and even I have surprised myself at times with my sheer level of output, especially most recently after losing my father when it seemed hard to muster the motivation at times to write anything at all.
Of course, output is one thing but quality is another and I can only say I have tried my best to evolve as a writer and develop my skills through what has essentially been a self-initiated apprenticeship, transitioning from screenwriting to pure prose.
I'll be honest, growing my readership has been quite slow and difficult at times but I have been pleased with the general patience, loyalty and feedback from my readers/subscribers and overall numbers (although I know I could do much better with a little more work on self-promotion in the right areas/platforms).
Even though many of the stories/essays are relatively short, conceptually I like to think I have been fairly rich and varied in scope and am now slowly amassing ideas and themes that I may look to explore in the future in more lengthy and complex forms such as longer short stories, novellas and novels.
At some point I may look to create an additional monetised content feature for the serialisation of my first novel which will, of course, be entirely optional for anyone who wishes to support that venture. But for now, I plan to keep the free content going regardless until I've reached a point where I've completed the several anthologies I promised to finish, at which point I'll review the situation accordingly. It has also been suggested to me by several of you how cool it would be to have the stories available as an audio book collection or uploaded as a regular fiction podast. I'm definitely considering some sort of angle like that if I can find an effective way to do it sometime.
In the meantime, thank you for your continued support and taking the time (when and where you can) to read my work. It would be impossible to write just for myself so I very much appreciate having a readership to write for.
