HUMZA THE TERRIBLE

Humza Yousaf

'I think our country sinks beneath the yoke, oppressed and bowed down by tyranny; It weeps, it bleeds, and each new day a gash is added to her wounds' This is a cry for the tyranny to end.' - King Malcolm from Shakespeare's 'Macbeth'

Well, I can't imagine they'll be too many tears shed for Humza Yousaf's political career after he announced his resignation yesterday as Scotland's First Minister. Besides, why should anyone be sad about a man who'll be guaranteed a salary of £52,000 a year for life (half of his FM yearly salary of £104,000) simply by virtue of being incompetent. Mind you, he's certainly not the first numpty to enjoy the spoils of high office after being professionally humiliated and surely won't be the last.

But if ever there was an example of the insidious way authoritarianism can creep into power under the guise of a feckless bureaucrat with the help of the identity politics forced zeitgeist then it was surely the bizarre appointment of 'Humza the Terrible' (sounding like a Cressida Powell character from her 'How To Train Your Dragon' series) as First Minister. Yousaf not only weaponised racist rhetoric by using his 'ethnic privilege' but also felt compelled to accelerate mad, gender self-id legislation on Scotland without any consideration for the vast majority of voters who opposed it. One particularly delicious and cruel irony that Humza has left us as part of his rapidly fading political legacy was the fact he is now the most reported person for commiting hate crimes of any man, woman or child in Scotland. Quite a feat considering that as SNP's Justice Minister he established the very Public Hate Crime And Order (Scotland) Bill of 2021 that would have essentially introduced a Stasi-like ability for citizens to report on others on a whim and have them arrested and imprisoned for up to seven years.

I must also applaud J.K. Rowling for squaring up to this Hitler-y dementor and his Orwellian hate crime bill as well as forcing his ideological hand when it came to the thorny issue of protecting women's rights in prisons against transwomen rapists. Of course, she has been cast by her rabid detractors as the Voldemort of opposition to their woke zealotry but she remained firm in her convictions and now has become the de facto leader of Scotland (at least as far as I'm concerned) regardless of her not even running for office.

What with the previous First Minister of Scotland Nicola Sturgeon and her husband currently being investigated for financial corruption aka embezzlement by the Scottish police and now Humza's farcical stint as FM with his record breaking amount of hate crimes filed against him, I'm starting to wonder if Scotland is deliberately trying to outscore the insanity of England's political circus these days while we 'hold its beer' (or whiskey).

Perhaps Humza should have taken the time to study Shakespeare's 'Macbeth' and taken heed of his cautionary admission that "I have no spur to prick the sides of my intent, but only vaulting ambition."

Humza's own vaulting ambition has ended up with him snapping his pole in mid-flight only to crash back down to earth with a heavy thud, leaving a crater sized power vacuum in his wake.

Of course, there's one man who may have the dimensions to fill such a vacuum.

The very same man who brought both Sturgeon and Yousaf into political office.
