PEAK VIBES

The cold, dry November nights are inspiring for cine-geeks like me, as they evoke a blend of Twin Peaks vibes, with a dash of Douglas Sirk melodramas like All That Heaven Allows. Sitting in a café in my small town, grappling with my oversized, ridiculous dreams, I find myself in need of a soundtrack to match my late-afternoon mood—a mix of the dream-like and the pensively real.
I remembered "Shadow" by The Chromatics, featured in Twin Peaks: The Return, which felt like a perfect fit for where I am right now. As I get older, I'm increasingly selecting music for each existential crisis that arises, like some sort of self-reflecting DJ with an audience of one.
Who knows what I'll choose tomorrow.
